ARE YOU READY TO TAKE CONTROL?
You’re a go getter. You have hopes and dreams. Personal goals and professional aspirations. You have goals and areas you want to grow. You want to make a change in your life. And, you’re in the right place.
Becoming the CEO of your life means taking back the control. Taking responsibility for where you life is now. Determining your own direction and putting in the work to get there. Investing your time and effort in a way that helps your move towards your goals instead of allowing complacency, insecurity, confidence or anything else to root us in the status quo.
LET'S DO IT
Consider the quote from Jim Rohn; “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Take a moment and reflect on the people you spent time with this week in work, social settings and even in passing. How did you feel after those interactions?
In studying the stories of multiple successful people, they frequently cite the support they had around them as a key to their success. The people we spend our time with each day matter, not just to our mood but to our personal and professional development and ultimately our success. Time is our only non-renewable resource and how we invest it makes a difference to our personal and professional lives.
When building a Personal Board of Advisors, the first thing to remember is that no two Boards are alike. The type of people I need on my board may be completely different than who you need on yours! This is a group of people that you seek out to help you grow personally or professionally.
It can be difficult to choose Advisors if you don’t know what you need advice on, which is why the first step of Assessment is vital. Once you have an idea of how you’re trying to grow or what you wish to accomplish, you then need to make sure you have the people and resources you need to accomplish your goal which is the purpose of the Assemble step. Then, it’s time to put that plan into action. These steps are what I call the Advisor Framework.
